Shift At Midnight

Shift At Midnight is a first-person cooperative horror game developed by Bun Muen and published by Kwalee. Set inside a remote 1990s gas station, the game combines survival horror, customer inspection, and management simulation mechanics into a tense multiplayer experience.

Players work the midnight shift while secretly investigating customers because some visitors are not human at all—they are dangerous doppelgangers hiding among ordinary people.

SHIFT AT MIDNIGHT—SURVIVE THE GRAVEYARD SHIFT

In Shift At Midnight, players must balance two major responsibilities:

  • Running the gas station
  • Investigating suspicious customers

During each shift, players:

  • Check customer IDs
  • Compare information through computer records
  • Observe strange behavior and body language
  • Question suspicious visitors
  • Decide who is human and who is an impostor

Making the wrong decision can have deadly consequences later in the night.

Gas Station Management Under Pressure

Beyond survival horror mechanics, the game also includes simulation elements.

Players must:

  • Restock shelves
  • Accept deliveries
  • Keep the station clean
  • Manage limited resources
  • Meet nightly quotas

This management system creates constant pressure because players must continue working even while potential monsters walk through the store.

Online Co-op Multiplayer

Shift At Midnight supports online co-op for up to three players, allowing teams to manage the gas station and investigate suspicious customers together. The game also features proximity voice chat and team-based task management, creating a more immersive and social horror experience.
