Backrooms is a psychological horror game inspired by the viral internet creepypasta of the same name. Players find themselves trapped in an endless maze of empty, repetitive rooms with no clear exit. The game focuses on exploration, survival, and the constant feeling of being watched.
The Backrooms are divided into multiple levels, each with unique environments, dangers, and survival challenges. As players progress deeper, the world becomes more unpredictable and hostile. Understanding each level is key to survival.
Level 0 is the most iconic starting point of the Backrooms. It consists of endless yellow rooms, stained carpets, and buzzing fluorescent lights. The environment feels empty but highly disorienting, making navigation extremely difficult.
There are usually no entities here, but the psychological pressure is intense. Players often lose their sense of direction due to the repetitive layout. The main goal is to explore carefully and find a way to transition to the next level.
Survival Tips:
Level 1 introduces a darker, more industrial setting. The environment includes concrete walls, pipes, and scattered crates. Unlike Level 0, this level contains resources such as supplies that can help players survive longer.
However, danger increases as hostile entities may appear. Lighting is inconsistent, and some areas are nearly pitch black, adding to the tension.
Survival Tips:
Level 2 is a claustrophobic network of narrow corridors filled with pipes and extreme heat. The environment is much more dangerous, with limited space to move and escape.
Entities are more aggressive here, and the tight layout makes it harder to avoid them. The constant noise of machinery and steam adds to the stress.
