Verity

VERITY - CAN YOU TRUST THE VOICE THAT WANTS TO HELP YOU?

Verity is a short psychological horror experience on Roblox developed by Specter Development. You play as Ethan, a child left home alone when an unmarked package suddenly appears at the front door. Inside is Verity, a cheerful yellow sphere that claims to know everything and promises to help you prepare for something arriving in three days. As the countdown continues, Verity's behavior becomes increasingly unsettling, turning an ordinary home into a place filled with suspicion and fear.

GAMEPLAY OVERVIEW OF VERITY

Verity unfolds over three in-game days, each introducing new objectives and escalating tension. Instead of combat, gameplay focuses on exploring Ethan's house, interacting with objects, securing entry points, and preparing for the mysterious event promised at the end of Day 3. Environmental storytelling and subtle audio cues gradually reveal that Verity may not be the trustworthy companion she first appears to be.

A Companion That Slowly Changes

Verity is more than a guide—it is the heart of the horror experience.

  • Initially offers hints and guidance.
  • Follows Ethan throughout the house.
  • Reacts to your actions and conversations.
  • Becomes increasingly suspicious as time passes.
  • Blurs the line between ally and threat.

Prepare the House Before Day Three

Survival depends on careful preparation rather than fighting enemies.

  • Explore every room for useful interactable objects.
  • Secure doors and important entry points.
  • Learn the layout of the house for quick movement.
  • Pay attention to environmental and audio clues.
  • Complete preparations before the final confrontation arrives.

Atmosphere Drives the Horror

Rather than relying on constant jump scares, Verity builds tension through quiet moments. Creaking floorboards, distant noises, and Verity's increasingly unsettling dialogue create an atmosphere where even ordinary rooms feel unsafe. Playing with headphones is highly recommended because many story moments and warnings are delivered through sound.

Controls
